Red Floral Trio

It's time for another Word Art Wednesday challenge. This time we're looking at 2 Corinthians 3:17, "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty." Earlier in the 3rd chapter of 2 Corinthians, Paul was talking to the Corinthian believers and telling them that they are epistles (letters) of God. Their lives would show those around them how the Lord can work in people's hearts. The Spirit of the Lord lives in each believer.  When they are walking in fellowship with him, they can feel the liberty and boldness to share the Gospel with others. They can feel His prompting to do wrong or how to avoid temptation. There's a song that talks about how our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. So how are we doing? Are we good ambassadors for the Lord and do our lives point others to Him?

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp (SSS). Be sure to link up this week for a chance to win some shopping money at SSS. You can enter up to 5 of your family-friendly projects that have a positive sentiment. We'd love to see what you have made. This week I pulled out my Always and Forever stamp set {it has retired - I'll like some good substitutes down below}. I stamped 3 of the large flowers and 5 of the leaves with Memento ink and then Copic colored them. The flowers were accented with a white gel pen and some yellow stickles. The flowers and leaves were fussy-cut and a black marker was run around the cut edge.

The sentiment was cut using the A2 Curved Edge Die.  Some navy Recollections cardstock borders each side of the panel and some faux stitching finishes off the edges. After adding a strip of patterned paper to the bottom of a navy cardstock panel, the sentiment panel was layered over it. The flowers and leaves were arranged at the top with two of the flowers being given some dimension with the use of some 3D pop dots. To finish off the card some holographic gold star sequins and some dark blue sequins in 3 different sizes were scattered on the card front and topped with Star Dust Stickles. The finished size is an A2 top-folding card.

Circle Mania

I am late getting this posted for the new Word Art Wednesday challenge. My husband has been away and I've been swamped. He'll be home Saturday and I can't wait!! Anyway, back to the new challenge....our focus verse this week is Proverbs 16:9, "A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps." This verse reminds me that while we may think we know the best way for things to work out, it's really God that is in control. I remember when I was unhappy where I was working and looking for a new job. Since some of the reasons I was unhappy were because of work conditions that I knew didn't please the Lord, I was sure that leaving immediately was the best thing for me to do. However, nothing opened up. I was convinced there was a black hole somewhere that was full of my resumes. But in God's time, the perfect job for me opened up and things fell into place so easily. We could see God directing things so clearly. I love my current job and looking back, I am so glad the Lord didn't let me have any of the others. I don't think it's wrong to have plans and goals as long as we surrender them to the Lord's leading. That's the only way we'll truly be happy.

On of our sponsors this week is All Dressed Up Digital Stamps. I was able to play with their A Cuddle Makes It All Better image. It comes with a sentiment but I chose to not use it this time. I colored the image with Copics. The dog was printed twice. After coloring her, I fussy cut her and glued her on top of the full image. This adds some dimension to the card (and covers up my coloring mistakes on the first one LOL). Her bow and the girl's dress were coated with two coats of Glossy Accents. The dogs nose was coated with a glaze pen. I used a fine tip black marker on the dog and girl eyes to darken them and then added a highlight dot with a white gel pen.

The sentiment circle was popped up with some fun foam. The patterned paper is an old piece of Echo Park paper. I believe it is retired. Faux stitching helps define the edges. Sequins and a few rhinestones were added to finish off the card.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Sweet Stamps June Challenge - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion Challenge #315 - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #197 - Make Your Mark (I used Copics to make my mark)
