Word Art Wednesday Blog Hop

Hello, Friends!! Can you believe that Christmas is next week?? Today we start our last Word Art Wednesday Challenge for 2020. This challenge will run three weeks. In conjunction with the challenge, we are having a blog hop that will have prizes on each blog. More about that at the end of my post.

Our focus verse this week is, "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name, Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Matthew 1:23. Can you imagine being a young woman (possibly still a teenager), far away from home, and giving birth in a stable with only your husband to help you? Yet we find no complaint from Mary. Her focus was on the Christ Child and doing what God had called her to do. What a challenge that is to me! As we are all busy with Christmas preparations, let's not forget Who we are celebrating. I would challenge you to take some time over the next week and read the accounts of Christ's birth found in Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 2.

I chose to make an easel card this week. I love the papers in the Silent Night collection by Echo Park. I used one of the border papers and layered it over a starry sky paper. A strip of gold vellum adds a border between the two. I used the Fishtail Sentiment Banners dies provided by our sponsor, Stamp Simply, to add some interest to the card from. A stamped sentiment and some Nuvo crystal drops on the stars finish off the card front.

This week's focus verse can be found on the interior of the card, matted and layered on top of another fishtail banner. This is popped up on the interior to provide a stopper for the easel portion.

Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Studio (#110 heavyweight card base, gold vellum), Pen & Gear (white for sentiments), Recollections (Rose Gold foil), Bazzill (dark blue and gold)
Patterned Paper: Echo Park (Silent Night 6 x 6 pad) - this is available from our sponsor, Stamp Simply
Stamps: WORDart by Karen (Matthew 1:23 digi), Jillian Vance Designs (O Holy Night clear stamp set)
Ink: VersaFine (Onyx Black)
Tools/Embellishments: Stamp Simply dies (Fishtail Sentiment Banners), Spellbinders dies (Classic Circles Large & Small, Labels 4, Labels 4 Small), Nuvo Crystal Drops (White Blizzard)

Word Art Wednesday will be offering the usual prize for a random participant in our challenge. Stamp Simply has provided this generous prize. In addition, at each stop on the hop, we will have a prize package from Emma's Paper that will be given away (US winners only). All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on each blog. This is the prize from Emma's Paper that will be given away here on my blog:

As an extra bonus, I will also be giving away an envelope of various new craft supplies to one person who leaves a comment below (I can only ship to the US).

I hope you will make the time to visit each stop on the hop to be inspired and have an opportunity to win some nice prize packages. Then link up one of your projects in order to have a chance to win a prize from our generous sponsor.

Here's the blog hop list:

Stephanie Wright - that's me! :)

Thanks for visiting with me today. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. May we concentrate on the greatest Gift of all, and the reason we have to celebrate: Christ, our wonderful Savior. He was born so that He could provide us with the gift of salvation.

Happy Spring - SNSDC92

This week the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge Blog gets to showcase the February Digi Stamp release.  There are 4 cute bunnies, a Spring Sentiment set and a Spring Add-on set being released this month.  Be sure to stop by the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge Blog to see all the adorable images and to check out what the rest of the DT (including our 5 new DT members) have done with the new images.  Be sure to read to the end of this post to see how you could win the entire release.

This week's challenge is a 3-2-1 challenge.  The challenge is to use 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something.  I used 3 butterflies, 2 patterned papers (the sentiment and the background) and one bunny.

I got to play with 3 of the sets.....

 Bunny 2

 Spring Sentiments

 Spring Add-Ons

I chose to use this week's sketch from Mojo Monday (MOJO280) as my jumping off point for the card design.  I layered my patterned paper with  a strip of Bazzill embossed cardstock  and then cut it all out with one of the Spellbinders Grand Circle dies (3rd from the smallest).  There were so many layers I had to give a little help with my scissors to complete the circle.  I then adhered this to a plain white circle card base.  Some pearls and faux stitching finish off the background.

I coolored all the images with Copics.  I inked the edges and fussy cut the butterflies.  A glaze pen was used on the bunny's nose & eye and stickles give his tail some dimension . A glitter pen gives the butterfly wings, bodies and  the flower some sparkle. The image is printed on patterned paper and hand-cut.  The butterflies are all popped up with pop dots.  The sentiment and flower each have a pearl accent.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Bazzill, Recollections, Copic, Georgia Pacific
Patterned paper:  Prima (Madeline)
Stamps:  Sweet 'n Sassy Digis (Bunny 2, Spring Add-Ons, Spring Sentiment)
Ink:  Memento (Angel Pink, Desert Sand)
Copics:  bunny - E31, 35, 37, R20, C-1, W-1, B21, 23, YG03, 05; butterflies - Y17, BG10, 15
Embellishments/Tools:  pearls (The Paper Studio), Sakura Gelly Roll pen (Clear Star), Sakura Glaze pen, Spellbinders (Grand Circles, Deckled Rectangles Large & Small), Sharpie Fine Point Pen (brown), Stickles (Frosted Lace)

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Pile It On Challenge #6 - Shaped Cards
Word Art Wednesday #67 - Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown #134 - Anything Goes
Mojo Monday (MOJO280) - Sketch
Spark Your Creativity Now #6 - Anything Goes

For a chance to win the entire February release, be sure to stop by each of the DT members' blogs and leave a comment.  One of the DT is our mystery blogger and one person who leaves a comment will be chosen at random to receive the entire February 2013 Digi Release. You can find a full list of each of the DT in my sidebar or on the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge New Release post.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you'll come back soon.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Birthday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Birthday Blog Hop!  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is so excited to be celebrating four wonderful years! I first "discovered" Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps several years ago when I was looking for KJV Scripture stamps.  They were, and still are, hard to find and I was thrilled to find such a great selection at SNSS.  After the The Sweet Stop Sketch blog started, I enjoyed playing along as often as possible.  I was very excited when Korin gave me an opportunity to be on the Digi Challenge Blog DT and to hostess the Say it With Scripture Challenge over at The Sweet 'n Sassy Connection.

A fantastic group of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps design team members past and present, along with some special friends, have put together this fabulous Birthday Blog Hop to kick off a whole month of fun. We have 37 stops so the hop will take place over three days - feel free to take your time visiting each blog!  You have until 11:59pm EST November 9th to leave comments on as many blogs as you can.  On Saturday, November 12th Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps will announce FOUR winners (chosen at random from comments on random stops along the hop); each lucky winner will receive a prize pack including stamps, dies, paper & twine valued at $40!

If you have been following along already you should have come from Chris Dickinson.  If you are only starting here, please head back to the SNSS blog and go from there.  You won't want to miss any stops along the way!  Don't forget to comment on as many stops as you can....the more comments the better your chance of winning one of the fabulous prize packs! :)  Also, I'll be picking a winner from all the comments left on my blog to receive a little gift from me.

I used this week's Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS133) for my card design today.  I also used one of the new digi stamp releases, Rhubarb's Stocking.  Isn't he adorable?!  I love teddy bears and Rhubarb just looks so huggable.  :)

I colored Rhubarb and his stocking with copics.  I went with a non-traditional pink and green color scheme this time. A snowflake embossing folder added texture and a clear star pen on the stocking and some red stickles on the holly added some sparkle.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Recollections (green), Georgia Pacific (white)
Patterned paper:  Basic Grey (Eskimo Kisses)
Stamps:  Sweet 'n Sassy (Rhubarb's Stocking, Bear Christmas Digital Sentiments)
Embellishments/Tools: Ribbon (Hobby Lobby), Stickles (Christmas Red), Sakura Gelly Roll pen (clear star), Fiskars Border Punch (Threading Water), Spellbinders Nestabilities (Petite Oval large & small), copic markers

I'm entering this card in the Jellypark Challenge for a card with non-traditional Christmas colors.

Your next stop on the hop is Shannon White, but just in case there are any hiccups, here is the whole list of celebrants on this party train:

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you're enjoying the hop.  Don't forget to leave comments on as many blogs as possible to help improve your chance to win one of the great SNSS prize packages.  I'll pick a random winner for a small gift from me from comments left here on my blog.  You have until 11:59 EST, Wednesday, November 9th to leave your comments for the SNSS prize packages and for my gift.  I'll post the winner of my gift on Friday, Nov. 11 and the winners of the SNSS prize packages will be posted on the SNSS blog on Sat., Nov. 12th.

Happy Hopping!!

{Robin} Card

The Bluebird Digital Stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is a favorite of mine.  However, this time, I chose to color it as my version of a robin.  When I was coloring it, a friend and I were discussing exactly what color robins are.  This one ended up being a compromise.  :)

For my card design, I used SSS106 as my starting place.  I left if without a sentiment (even on the inside) so that I can customize it later.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Recollections, Georgia Pacific
Patterned Papers:  BG
Stamp: Sweet 'n Sassy Bluebird Digital Stamp
Ink:  SU Bliss Blue
Embellishments:  Ribbon (Offray), Pearls (Recollections), Prismacolor pencils, Nestabilities circles, Bazzill Just the Edge, Fiskars corner punch (inside)

I'm a little late posting this and I know The Sweet Stop has a new sketch posted for this next week.  Be sure to stop by and play along.  Their Sugar Babies (DT) always has lots of eye candy for you.

It's still not too late to sign up for my blog candy.  You have until 11:59 PM EST tomorrow (Sunday, May 8) to sign up.  You can find all the details here.

Thanks for stopping by!
