Hello, All! It's Wednesday so that means it's time for a new challenge at the Word Art Wednesday Challenge Blog. This week our focus verse is John 15:9, "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love." What a comforting thought! Just as God the Father loves His Son, Jesus loves us. Wow! My first thought is why would He love me? So often I know I displease Him and yet He loves me! That's mind boggling. He loves you just as much. Pretty cool huh? One of the meanings of "continue" is to remain in a place, abide or stay. So, we are to abide or rest content in God's love for us. We're not to doubt it. Instead, because of God's love for Jesus and Jesus' love for us, we are able to abide in God's love. When the world gets crazy, that's like a haven, a place of peace and safety. That's comforting.
Whenever I think of God's love for us, I think of John 3:16, For God so loved THE WORLD..." (emphasis mine). For this reason, I chose to use the world map image from Deedee's Digis' All the World set. Deedee's Digis is one of our fantastic sponsors this week. Be sure to enter your family friendly projects so that you have a chance to win a voucher for some free Deedee's Digis. I used the pre-colored version and lowered the brightness of the colors in Microsoft Word. Then I layered the verse on top of it. After printing on patterned paper, faux stitching was added around the heart outline. The heart was fussy cut with a slight border. The edges were inked to add a distressed look. I kept the design pretty simple so that the heart image and verse could be the focal point. This card has lots of faux stitching, a few rhinestones and a leather twine accent.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Recollections
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye (Indie Chic 6x6 pad)
Stamps: WORDart by Karen, Deedee's Digis (All the World)
Ink: Distress (Antique Linen)
Tools/Embellishments: Staedtler fine tip marker (black), Gelly Roll gel pen (white), RealLeather Craft Lace by Silver Creek Leather Co., rhinestones (The Paper Studio), My Favorite Things Die-namics (Pinking Edge)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Take Your Pick (I chose the color theme of using cool colors and I used kraft cardstock)

Love the Lord Your God
Hello! I hope you are keeping well and warm this winter. We've had an unusual amount of snow the last couple of days and I've been reminded of my Jr. High/High School days in the NE. It's now Wednesday and that means it's time for another Word Art Wednesday Challenge. This week we're focusing on Mark 12:30, "And thou shalt love the
Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy
mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." This is truly where the Christian walk begins....our love for the Lord. Out of this love for Him flows everything else we do. If we love Him, we'll keep His commandments. If we love Him, we'll love others more than ourselves. If we love Him, we'll...... Notice that this is a command. We're not given the option to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, we are commanded to do this. Is it because God is mean or egotistical? No. One pastor said whenever you see a "Thou Shalt Not" you should view it as the Lord saying, "Don't hurt yourself" and whenever you see a "Thou Shalt" it's as if He's telling us, "Help yourself to some happiness." He gives us these commands because He knows that is the only way we'll truly be happy. When we go our own way, just like a child, we fall and hurt ourselves. However, when we do things His way, it might not be easy, but that's where we'll find true, lasting joy. So, let's help ourselves to some happiness and love the Lord as we should.
This week I have been in a "use up some of those scraps" mode. We had a snow day Monday and I was able to spend a good part of the day in my craft room. I made several cards and none of them used full sheets of patterned paper. Except for card bases, some sentiment panels and the interior writing panels, even the cardstock was leftover from other projects. I really liked these papers and since none of them were big enough to cover the card front alone, I decided to line them up side by side and added a die cut wavy edge of cardstock between each pattern. This gives just a bit of definition for each pattern and eases the transition between them.
The butterflies were fussy cut from another scrap. After going around the edges with a Copic marker and adding some stamping to the teal butterflies, they were adhered just in the middle so that their wings could be folded up for added dimension. Some Wink of Stella and pearls for their bodies finish them off. The sentiment panel was die cut and then matted with another lacey die cut. This was popped up off the card base.
I really like to decorate the interior of my cards and usually just add a pattern paper strip down one side. This time, I tried something a little different. I used a circle punch to cut out 3 more butterflies from the same scrap of paper that I used for the ones I fussy cut. After punching holes with a slightly larger circle punch in my writing panel, I attached the butterflies to the background cardstock. They were also given a coat of Wink of Stella. I really like how it carries the butterfly theme to the inside of the card but still leaves plenty of room for a message to the recipient.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill, Georgia Pacific
Patterned Paper: Prima (Madeline 6x6 pad)
Stamps: WORDart by Karen (Mark 12:30), Stampin' Up (Itty Bitty Backgrounds wood mounted)
Ink: VersaFine (Vintage Sepia)
Tools/Embellishments: Copic E29, The Twinery Baker's Twine, Wink of Stella glitter brush marker (clear), Want2Scrap pearls, My Favorite Things Die-namics (Wavy Edge), Spellbinders dies (Classic Square Small, Lacey Square), Marvy circle punches (3/4", 1")
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Pile It On Challenge #56 - Butterflies
Papertake Weekly - Bingo (I used the middle horizontal row - die cuts (I used 3 different dies), FREE, and glitter (I used the Wink of Stella glitter marker)
Fan-tastic Tuesday Challenge #73 - Use a die (I used 3)
ABC Challenge - D is for Die Cuts
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll visit often and also stop by the Word Art Wednesday blog for more inspiration and to pick up your free digi. We have great sponsors and would love to have you play along with us in our weekly challenge.

Hello, Sunshine!!
Deedee's Digis is sponsoring the Craft Your Passion Challenge this week. The theme is always Anything Goes so it's a pretty easy one. :) Why not join us for a chance to win some free digis from Deedee's Digis?
For this card I used the Hello Sunshine set. I layered one of the sentiments in the cloud in Microsoft Word. The sentiment was designed on one line but I really needed it on two lines in order to fit better in the cloud. I was able to crop it and make it on two lines. I love being able to customize images and sentiments like that. I thought the sunburst technique was perfect for this set. The bright happy colors are great for cheering up those tired of all the cold and snow (we got 10" of snow today). I added Glossy Accents to the sun's eyes and faux stitching around the outside edge. The finished card is a 5.5" square.
The image was fussy cut and popped up over the embossed panel. Then it was double matted before being popped up over the background. This pic gives a peek at the interior decorating. The interior poem was found on the internet as a custom design for a customer. It is not part of the Hello Sunshine set.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific, Bazzill
Patterned Paper: Pebbles (Family Ties 6x6 pad)
Stamps: Deedee's Digis (Hello, Sunshine)
Tools/Embellishments: Staedtler marker (black), ribbon from my stash, Wink of Stella glitter brush marker (clear), Spellbinders Dies (Petite Scalloped Circle Large, Circle Large), Sweet 'n Sassy Eyelet Border Die, Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder, Glossy Accents
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps Challenge #98 - Embossing (dry)
Crafting When We Can Challenge #88 - Stitching - Real or Faux
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a great week.

With Deepest Sympathy
This is one of those cards we never want to need but inevitably do. I kept the card design pretty simple but added some dry embossing and pearls for a special touch.
The sentiment panel is popped up with foam tape over the pearl flourishes.
Another sentiment from the same set was used on the inside. These two images are also from the same set. I stamped the sentiments in VersaFine Onyx Black ink but felt it was too dark for the flower and butterfly. I solved this by stamping off once and then stamping on the card interior.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Recollections (cream), Bazzill (brown)
Patterned Papers: MME
Stamps: Stampin' Up (Thanks for Caring cling mount set)
Ink: Versafine (Oxyx Black)
Tools/Embellishments: pearls (Want 2 Scrap), Cheery Lynn doily die (French Pastry), Spellbinders dies (Classic Oval Large, Floral Ovals), Cuttlebug embossing folder (Victoria)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge #214 - Embossing (Heat or Dry - I chose dry)
Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge (Feb. 12-18) - Anything Goes with a Twist of using a doily
Addicted to Stamps Challenge #98 - Embossing (Heat or Dry - I chose dry)
Amusing Challenge - Die Cuts
Thanks for visiting today. I'll have several more projects to share with you this week so I hope you'll come back again soon.

Melody of Love
I have one last Valentine to share with you today. This is one I made for my husband. My husband's undergrad degree had a piano proficiency. His piano music and music in general have been a big part of our lives. So, when I saw this Grand Piano digi set from Imagine That! Digis by Kris, I knew it was the perfect image for his Valentine's Day card. I used the pre-colored digi and a computer generated sentiment for the front of the card. One of the sentiments from the set is on the interior. I used sketch #187 from Deconstructed Sketches for the card design. However, since I wanted this card to be a little extra special, I used a clear card base. By carefully planning my layers, all the adhesive was covered.
I used vellum for the sentiment so that it would not cover up too much of the piano. Faux stitching adds a little interest to the image panel. All the hearts were given some sparkle with Stickles.
I used one of the sentiments from the set on the interior. A panel for my note was added to the inside top panel. You can just see the bottom of it in the picture. The hearts on the inside also sparkle with some Stickles.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Core'dinations (brown), Acetate (The Paper Temptress)
Patterned Papers: Basic Gray (Blush)
Stamps: Imagine That! Digis by Kris (Grand Piano), Computer generated sentiment
Tools/Embellishments: Staedtler fine tip marker (black), Stickles (Crystal), My Favorite Things Die-namics (Mini Scallop Edge, Fish Tail Stax), Spellbinders dies (Standard Circle Large, Petite Scalloped Circles Large), Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts (Hearts)
I'm linking this card up at the following challenges:

Sending Love
I have another Valentine card to share with you today using another Deedee's Digi Sending My Love set. I'm using the pre-colored version on this card and it made the card come together so quickly. I fussy cut the image and popped it up over the background paper. After printing out and die cutting the sentiment, that panel was inked and matted.
This week's Sweet Sunday Sketch was the inspiration for my card design. I layered and popped up some die cut hearts. The top heart in each set and the two red hearts on the sentiment panel received a coat of Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents. The hearts on the letters also were coated with Glossy Accents. The interior sentiment is from the Owl My Love set.
For some added interior interest, a series of hearts were die cut into the sentiment panel allowing the red cardstock background to show through. Faux stitching completes the interior decorating.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Bazzill (red)
Patterned Paper: ColorBok (Hootenanny 8 x 8 pad)
Stamps: Deedee's Digis (Sending Love, Owl My Love)
Ink: Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass)
Tools/Embellishments: Spellbinders Dies (Petite Ovals Large and Small), Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts (Hearts), Staedtler fine tip marker (black), Glossy Accents, Zig Wink of Stella Glitter brush marker (red, clear)

Somebunny Loves You
I made this Valentine for our grandson. Shaker cards are popular right now and I've tried them before but when I saw this see-thru shaker on Dawn's YouTube channel, I decided to give one a try. I put my own spin on it and made a square window and the image is on a panel on the card interior.
I used this adorable set from Deedee's Digis called Sending My Love. Perfect for letting our grandson, who loves too far away, know that we love him.
I used fun foam to add space for the sequins and beads. This was much easier than having to use two layers of foam tape. I think the sequins move around better too since they don't get stuck in the adhesive on the edges of the tape.
Supplies
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Bazzill (red)
Pattern Paper: Colorbok (Hootenanny)
Stamps: Deedee's Digis (Sending My Love, Owl My Love), some computer generated sentiments
Tools/Embellishments: Darice Inc. fun foam, Acetate and sequins from my stash, V's Sweet Ideas star sequins, Cousin Corp of America glass bugle beads, Spellbinders Dies (Square Small), My Favorite Things Die-namics (Fish Tail Stax), Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts (Hearts), Zig Wink of Stella Glitter brush marker (red)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Guess Whoo Loves You?
I've seen critters popping out of holes in trees a lot lately on the internet. I decided to give my neglected Stampin' Up Owl Punch some attention and came up with this card. This Woodgrain Backdrop stamp set from Lawn Fawn is one of my favorites. It stamps and embosses so well.
After die cutting the holes in the "tree trunk," I inked them lightly to help give them a little more definition. The tree/owl panel is popped up over the background paper. The sentiment was computer generated because I didn't have a stamp that said exactly what I wanted. The sentiment was cut with a fish tail die and then matted before being adhered across the bottom of the tree.
The answer to the question was also computer generated and die cut, matted & popped up on the interior sentiment panel. The rest of the sentiment is from the Sending My Love digi set from Deedee's Digis.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Recollection (kraft), Bazzill (red), Georgia Pacific (white)
Patterned Paper: The Paper Studio
Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Woodgrain Backdrops), Deedee's Digis (Sending My Love), Computer generated sentiments
Ink: ColorBox Fluid Chalk (Chestnut Roan), Versafine (Vintage Sepia)
Tools/Embellishments: Staedtler fine tip marker (black), Winter of Stella glitter brush marker (red, clear), My Favorite Things Die-namics (Blueprints 1, Fish Tail Stax), Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts (Hearts), Spellbinders dies (Standard Circles Large), Stampin' Up (Owl Punch, Crystal Clear embossing powder)

Love Covereth All Sins
It's Wednesday so that means it's time for another challenge at Word Art Wednesday. This week our focus verse is Proverbs 10:12, "Hatred stirreth up strifes: but Love covereth all sins." Last week we talked about how our actions are to be governed by love and how the world would be a different place if we were able to do so. This week, our verse shows how our heart attitude towards someone changes the outcome. If we approach someone with ill feelings or hatred, then we are looking for things that make us feel angry and negative towards that person. It will be hard to find a positive in anything they do. However, if we feel love in our heart for someone, we're going to be looking for the best in them and be willing to overlook a lot of hurtful and irritating things that they do. Which attitude do you think will make us happier and which will cause a dark cloud to feel like it is hanging over our heads? If someone irritates you, the best thing you can do is to pray for them. It may be the hardest thing to do but it is the most beneficial....to them and to you. It's hard to be angry with someone for whom you are consistently praying. A second thing you can do is to LOOK for something positive. Some days it might be hard to find and it might be something small but gradually, it will help your heart attitude to change. I'm not suggesting that you have to be "best buddies" with everyone. But as Romans 12:8 says, "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."
I have two cards to share with you today. Word Art Wednesday has some fantastic sponsors and I was able to make a card using images from each of this week's sponsors. My first card uses a clear stamp from Mark's Finest Papers. I used the largest single flower from the Amaryllis Definition set for my resist background technique.
I stamped the flower multiple times in Versamark and then embossed it with white embossing powder. Two colors of Distress Ink were used to create the ombre background. The verse and background were matted with dark blue cardstock and the sentiment panel was backed with a die cut. I cut the die cut in half horizontally and attached each half behind the sentiment. A ribbon and blue rhinestones finish off the card front.
I carried the ombre color to the inside but only used one color of distress ink this time.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), dark blue cardstock is from my stash and is an unknown brand
Stamps: WORDart by Karen (Proverbs 10:12), Mark's Finest Papers (Amaryllis Definition clear stamp set)
Ink: Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass, Broken China), Versamark
Tools/Embellishments: ribbon (May Arts), embossing powder (Stampendous opaque white), Spellbinders dies (Fancy Tags 3), rhinestones (Studio G)
I'm entering this card in the following challenge:
Scrapbook Blessings Club February Challenge - Ombre Technique
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge #214 - Embossing (heat or dry - on this card I used heat)
My second card using one of the flowers from a printable sheet by Crafty Secrets. I used Flowers Printable Sheet (DPS-11. This sheet has 9 beautiful vintage images. It was easy to crop, re-size and then print just the image I wanted to use in Microsoft Word. Vintage is not my usual style so it was a step out of my comfort zone. I used a die to make a frame for the image. Then the frame was dry embossed, spritzed with shimmer spray and embellished with pearls. The edges of the frame were lightly inked as was the patterned paper panel. The background layer was also embossed and spritzed with shimmer spray. It was matted on a piece of Bazzill Vanilla cardstock that covers the entire 5"x7" card front.
The sentiment was printed on vellum and accented with more pearls. If you click on this picture to enlarge it, you can see the shimmer spray a little better.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampin' Up (Primrose Petals - I think), Bazzill (Vanilla), Georgia Pacific (for the image), Recollections (cream card base - not visible in the pictures, The Paper Studio (vellum)
Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye (All Dolled Up 6x6 pad)
Stamps: WORDart by Karen (Proverbs 10:12), Crafty Secrets (Flowers Printable Sheet DPS-11)
Ink: Distresss (Antique Linen)
Tools/Embellishments: Spellbinders die (Polka Dot Frame), Cuttlebug embossing Folders (Wicker Weave, Victoria), Tsukineko Shimmer Spray (Frost), Want 2Scrap (Pearl Strips), Prima Say It In Pearl (Siip Center Asst 1)
I'm entering this card in the following challenge:

A YouTube Channel Recommendation
I enjoy watching crafting videos on YouTube and like when other crafters share a favorite. Today I thought I'd return the favor and pop in to share one of my YouTube channels with you: Sandy Allnock.
Many of you may have heard of Sandy Allnock but I wanted to pass along her channel in case you haven't. Sandy has some amazing skills with Copic markers. She was one of the teachers in the Copic Markers for Cardmarkers class I took from Online Card Classes last fall. Each Monday, she posts a video and just lets us watch her color. Watching an image "come alive" as she colors always amazes me. I mean, I have the same type of markers she does and mine sure don't give me those results! LOL She posts other videos and tells us how she's doing what she's doing and makes it look easy. However, as I mentioned I own Copics and I KNOW it's not as easy as she makes it look. She is also fantastic with watercolors and other mediums as well. She's taking her watercolors to Europe soon and I can't wait to see the pictures she paints. I thought this watercolor pic was very special.
Sandy is the Founder and Executive Director of Operation Write Home. This is a non-profit organization that send handmade cards to our service personnel overseas for them to send back home to their families. It's a fantastic and much needed organization. I've been able to participate some in the past and hope to do more in the future.
But most importantly, Sandy is a Christian. She's recently posted a non-crafting video on her channel of a speech she made entitled, "Is God Really Crazy?". I was greatly challenged by her speech and reminded once again of the benefits of being willing to step out in faith when the Lord asks us to do something. Apparently she's taken some criticism for posting her speech but I'm so thankful she did. It was just the reminder I needed to hear today.
I would encourage you to check out her YouTube Channel and her blog for lots of inspiration and how-to tips. While you're there, why not subscribe both places so that you don't miss out on any of her projects.
Do you have a favorite crafting channel? If so, leave me a link in the comments. Thanks! Periodically I'll pass along info on another of my favorites.
Many of you may have heard of Sandy Allnock but I wanted to pass along her channel in case you haven't. Sandy has some amazing skills with Copic markers. {Charity}
I hope your week is going well. It's time for another challenge at Word Art Wednesday. This week our focus verse is 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let All your things be done with charity." Charity is another word for "love." In this verse we're encouraged to let all our actions be governed by love. Wow! What a different world this would be if we all did so! If I wasn't so Me-focused, and based all my actions on love for others, life would be a lot more pleasant...or me and for those around me.
Imagine That! Digis by Kris is one of our generous sponsors this week. Some of us were provided with images to use this week. I was able to play with the adorable Honey & Boo Balloons set. This set is perfect for Valentine's Day but can also be used year round for birthday, friendship, or general encouragement cards. To start my card, I used the edge of a scalloped oval die cut as a mask and inked up a piece of cardstock to look like clouds. Then after printing my WORDart and image over the clouds, I die cut them with a circle die. I tried printing the WORDart first but the computer ink smeared when I added the clouds. I probably could have let it dry more and not had a problem but I didn't have time to wait that long. I printed a second image the same size and fussy cut it. This let me glue it on top so that it could "float" off the edge of the circle. This piece was matted several times with various die cuts before being adhered to a circle card base. Glossy Accents makes the balloons shine and gives them some texture. Some blue rhinestones add a little sparkle.
The interior of the card has two more die cut circles. Yes, I went a little circle die cut crazy on this card! The doily die cut on the front helps the card stand up without rocking over.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific (white), Bazzill (blue)
Stamps: WORDart by Karen, Imagine That! (Honey & Boo Balloons)
Ink: Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass)
Tools/Embellishments: Spellbinders dies (Circle Small, Picot Edge Circle, Grand Circles, Petite Scalloped Circles Large, Petite Scalloped Oval Small), Cheery Lynn die (English Tea Party), Glossy Accents, Copic 100, rhinestones from stash (sorry I lost the packaging)
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion Challenge #247 - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Clear It Out Challenge - Anything Goes
Cuttlebug Mania - I {heart} You (my balloons are hearts)
Digi Chooseday Challenge Week 4 - Cool Blue
Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge - Include a heart (my balloons are hearts)
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - All Things Bright and Beautiful
Fab 'n Funky Challenges #245 - Hearts and/or Flowers (my balloons are hearts)
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge #213 - Use your favorite fold or technique (Using a die cut to ink in a sky background. I have a cloud stencil and a cloud embossing folder but using a die cut to ink my clouds is my favorite way to make them.)
Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope you'll also have time to visit the Word Art Wednesday blog for more inspiration and your free digi. I hope the rest of your week goes well.
