This week's challenge verse at the Say It With Scripture Challenge over at The Sweet 'n Sassy Connection is typically seen at Christmas time. However, my card is definitely not Christmas themed. That's because I think this verse fits any time of the year. Luke 1:47, "And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." As we're focusing on Thanksgiving this week, our spirits should rejoice in what the Lord has done for us.
Tonight, at our Thanksgiving Service, my husband (who is also the pastor of our church) is going to encourage everyone to share 3 things that they are thankful for this year. Since I have advance notice (one of the perks of being the pastor's wife), I've been giving this some thought. Of course, my salvation and what the Lord has done for me tops the list. But after that, here's my current top 3:
1. My husband. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful, godly man who loves me, sacrifices for me, and encourages me.
2. Answered prayers in the lives of our children. The Lord has provided healing, protection, worked in their romantic relationships, provided financially and helped them grow spiritually.
3. My parents. The longer I live the more I realized what a privilege I had to grow up in a Christian home with parents who loved each other, loved my siblings & I and trained us to put the Lord first.
I'm rejoicing in God, My Saviour. How about you?
My card this week uses the adorable Cocoa and his pumpkin. This just might be my favorite fall Cocoa image.
