One Sheet Wonder & Tote

On of the challenges for World Card Making Day over at AC Bailey, was to make a set of cards from a design called a One Sheet Wonder (OSW for short). Basically this means that you make a set of cards from one piece of patterned paper plus some cardstock. This particular pattern also included directions for a cute little tote to hold the cards. It was a lot of fun to do and I'll be reaching for this design again. With different papers, embellishments & stamps you can change up the look of the cards so easily. See the post HERE that includes the directions (if the link doesn't show you the post, register for the site & try again).

Full set including tote & pink envelopes

Croptoberfest at AC Bailey

AC Bailey is having a special weekend of challenges called Croptoberfest. There are a total of 6 challenges this time. I may only get to one of them because I need to concentrate on card-making this weekend and most of them are layout challenges. Anyway, here's my card for challenge #4. The challenge required you to make a layout or card with either a brown, green & white color scheme or a light blue & light pink color scheme. I chose to make a card with brown, green & white. Well, my white is more cream but Oh, well. :)

There's still time to play so why not come join us?

A Neat Gift Idea

I love ideas on how to make scrappy gifts. Over on Patter's Memory Box Blog, Create X3 she has a wonderful pocket/purse sized photo box made from an Altoid's tin. She made her tin as a gift for her parents to showcase pictures of their grandchildren. Inside the tin she has an accordion album of 9 "pages." It is beautiful!! She even included a step-by-step tutorial on how to make one. I can't wait to give it a try.

Here are the links to her tutorials:

Two More for AC Bailey's Challenges

I was able to make two more cards before the deadline for AC Bailey World Card Making Day Challenges. Both of these are for the #5 Love is in the Air challenge.

To satisfy the challenge requirements, the first one uses scraps and is to let Tim know I love him. I hid it in his suitcase when he went on a trip last weekend. Tim's is kind of plain but I sort of like it that way.

The second card also uses scraps and is to let Kendra know we love her. I also made a pocket and tucked tags in it. I gave it to her when we left her on campus after her having been home while she was sick. :(

Supplies: Papers - K & Company, faux Brads - Gibson, Stamps - Studio G, Ink - Stampabilities, Pen for faux stitching - Zig Ball Writer

Supplies: Papers & Chipboard flowers - BG Lemonade, Stamps - Studio G, Inks - ColorBox Fluid Chalk, Stampabilities, Bling - Michael's

World Card Making Day

Some of you have never heard of this wonderful "holiday" but that's OK. :) It's only about 4 years old so you have a good excuse. AC Bailey hosted a celebration and issued 9 challenges. I only was able to participate in 3 of them but I plan to use several of the challenge ideas in the future.

Here are the 3 cards I made (thankfully, you didn't have to do the challenges in order -- you're able to pick & choose among the 9):

Challenge #1 - make a card of any theme and include a bookmark made from the directions given on the forum. We were to show the bookmark hooked onto the inside of the card.

I chose to make a birthday card for a friend. I sure hope she's a reader. :)

Card Supplies: Paper - BG Wisteria; CS - Bazzill; Punch - Fiskars - Give it a Swirl; Ribbon - JoAnn's; Stamp - Studio G; Inks - Studio G & Stampabilities; Bling - Michael's

Bookmark Supplies: Paper - BG Wisteria; CS - Bazzill; Ribbon - JoAnn's; Inks - Studio G; Bling - Paper Studio; Stickles; Flowers - SandyLion

Challenge #3 - Make a Halloween Card or make a card out of craft plastic or both.

We don't really "do" Halloween so I chose to make a card to give our dau
ghter-in-law at her baby shower today. I really like these clear cards. They just add a neat creative spin on card-making. One of these days I'll get up the courage to make one of those acrylic mini-albums.

Supplies: Papers - Cloud Nine; Stickers - SandyLion; Stickles; Card blank - Short Cuts; Punch - Fiskars Threading Water

Challenge #9 - Make a Thank You card with a punched border.

Supplies: Paper - K & Company - Wild Saffron; Punch - Fiskars Threading Water; Ink - Color Box Fluid Chalk & Stampabilities; Ribbon - Offray; Eyelets - Misc; Stamp - Inkadinkado; Pearls - Hero Arts
