Full Pleated or Curtain Fold Card

Hello! It's time for another challenge at Word Art Wednesday. This week we're focusing on a verse in the book of Isaiah. Isaiah 54:10, "For the mountain shall depart and the hills be removed: but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." Wow! What a promise! Even if the hills and mountains are somehow removed, the Lord will still be with us and not break His promises to us. I'd call that an iron-clad promise! In a world where keeping your word and personal integrity are rare character qualities, it's good to know that the Lord has not and will never change in keeping His promises.

I saw this Curtain Fold or Pleated Fold card design on YouTube a long time ago but never have given it a try. So, this week, I re-watched this Full Pleated Card video by Linda Bauwin and gave it a try. One of our sponsors this week is the Kraft Outlet. I love their cardstocks and other supplies. They have GREAT prices and such unique items (bags, tags, envelopes) in various kraft shades. I started my top-folding A2 sized card with a base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock. This cardstock is so nice to work with and makes a good foundation for your cards. I used a piece of My Mind's Eye double-sided patterned paper (it's from the Lost and found collection but I can't find it anywhere online - sorry. I purchased it at Hobby Lobby) for my "curtain." This paper has a beautiful rose pattern on the front and a sweet pink and cream gingham pattern on the back. I had two scraps of this cranberry colored cardstock that matched the darker shade in the roses. I embossed the bottom section with an Anna Griffin embossing folder (Rosette Cluster). I printed this week's verse on Buff Ivory Text Weight Paper and adhered it to the other piece of cardstock. The curtain was adhered over the seam where the two pieces of cardstock met. I wrapped the top of the curtain with Twill Tape in Natural and then with Black Baker's Twine. I then used foam tape to adhere this entire panel to the card base. Some faux stitching, sequins, pearls and Stickles provided the perfect finishing touches.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps Challenge #211 - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Our Daily Bread Designs Shining Light Challenge (ODBDSLC278) - Dots or Dashes
Craft  Your Passion Challenge #329 - Anything Goes
Crafty Cardmakers #172- Layer it Up

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll have time to visit the Word Art Wednesday blog to see the projects made by the rest of the design team and to pick up your free digi. Also be sure to check out both of our fantastic sponsors.

Items I used to make this card are listed below. I was not able to find the exact embossing folder I used online so I linked a similar one. Affiliate links are used where possible. When you shop using these links, I receive a small commission.
