Following the Shepherd

Happy 4th of July!! I am so thankful for our country and that she's celebrating her 242nd birthday!! It's time for another Word Art Wednesday challenge. Our verse this week is Psalms 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." This verse is the last one in the very familiar 23rd Psalm. Throughout the Psalm, the writer is talking about all the benefits of having the Lord as his Shepherd. Some of those benefits are being led along the right path, not having to face death alone, protection from enemies, comfort and in this verse a Home in Heaven. As my (pastor) husband often says, "You'll never be sorry for putting the Lord first." Yes, you'll face difficulties in the Christian life but you'll never have to face them alone.

For my card this week, I used the MFT sketch #268 as my inspiration. I used some of the beautiful papers from the Our Daily Bread Designs Americana Quilt paper pad. It's hard to see in the picture but there are stickles highlighting the pattern of the paper on the far left and also accenting some of the flowers on the larger patterned paper panel.

Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Studio Heavy Weight (white card base), Georgia Pacific (white), Bazzill (Cherry Splash)
Patterned Paper: Our Daily Bread Designs 6 x 6 (Americana Quilt)
Stamp: WORDart by Karen
Tools/Embellishments: Our Daily Bread Designs Dies (Double Stitched Rectangles, Bitty Borders Dies), Wright's ribbon, Gina Marie Designs Enamel Dots (Patriotic Sparkle), Gelly Roll white gel pen
