Winners Never Quit

I have one more card to share with you using the Our Daily Bread Designs Soccer Stamp/Die Duo. It's one of those that has a few quirks (uneven stitching anyone?) and didn't turn out like what I saw in my head so I put it on the back burner. I decided to go ahead and post it here. I wanted to make a stand up card that also had a moving element. I die cut a circle in the front of my card using a Double Stitched Circle Die and then made a frame for the opening with that die and the next larger die. Embossing them really added some nice dimension. I stamped the sentiment and die cut it using the soccer ball die. I sandwiched a piece of fishing line between the sentiment circle and a stamped and die cut soccer ball. The fishing line was adhered to the front of the card and then the background patterned paper was added on top and then the die cut circle frame was added. The sentiment circle will spin and appears to float in the circle frame. I added some faux stitching that has a few quirky stitches...just like my real sewing. Ha!

To make the stand up easel part of the card, I cut a piece of white cardstock 4.25" x 4". Using a Score-Buddy with the 4" side at the top, this piece was scored at 1", 2" and 3". then it was folded mountain and valley style. Scor-tape was added to the two end folds. The back flap was adhered first and then the interior patterned paper panel was adhered on top so that the flap is completely covered. Then the folds were flattened and the card closed so that the flap is adhered to the front of the card base. Now the card will stand up for display. The vellum layer helps the number and Soccer sentiment pop off the busy background paper. Why 21? That was our son's number when he was playing ball.
