Psalm 118:24 - SIWS14

This week's focus verse in the Say It With Scripture Challenge over at The Sweet 'n Sassy Connection is near and dear to my heart. Psalm 118:24, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."  I remember my dad quoting this on Sunday mornings as he was getting ready for church. I never hear or read this verse without thinking of him.  It's a memory that brings encouragement on days that are more challenging {we WILL rejoice and be glad}. It also is helpful on days that are going well because it's a reminder that the Lord made this day.  Either way, it's a great reminder of both Dad and the Lord's goodness.

I used a pearl flourish as a stem for the flower.

The sentiment panel is made from a petite scalloped oval layered on a Fancy Tags 3 tag that I cut in half and the sentiment itself is on a Labels Four Small.
The card design was inspired by a sketch by Valerie Salmon of Got Sketch? that I found on Patter Cross' board on Pinterest.  I changed up several elements but it was my starting place.

Supplies:
Card base:  SU
Cardstock:  Recollection
Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey (Out of Print)
Stamp:  Sweet 'n Sassy (Rejoice in the Lord)
Embellishments/Tools: Flower (Prima), Flourish (Recollections), Pearls (Oriental Trading), Button (from my stash), Nestabilities (Petite Scalloped Ovals, Labels 4 Small, Fancy Tags 3, Decorative Photo Corners), Stickles (gold), Gold Glitter Pen (Recollections)

Challenges I'm entering:
Tuesday Throwdown #66 - Pearls
Craft Your Passion #75 - Use things that star with the letter "F" (I used flower & flourish)

I agree -- that is a wonderful Scripture verse, and one of my all-time favorites. I loved reading the different emphases on the word WILL that you used in your post, because that's how I say it in my mind, depending on the kind of day. Your card is beautiful. So elegant with how you laid it out and all those pretty pearls!
